There are around 680 muscles in the human body, some of us are missing some and others can even have extra ones. Some debate whether some muscles are part of the same one but either way they work together to create movement. Some need stretching and others need strengthening. Finding muscle imbalances can be simple, tricky and sometimes an art. Often when people feel pain in a particular area does not mean the actual issue is there which is why in part we do a thorough examination. We also look at the joint mechanics, some debate that a restricted joint causes muscle imbalance and others think muscle imbalance can cause joint restriction. Personally I think it's both which is why i work on both!
